Your new company
I am partnered with an exciting government client, who is planning to hire a huge team of professionals for a large-scale construction project. This is an organisation whose work is impactful and will greatly affect members of the public. Currently, they are actively recruiting a Head of Procurement to lead the strategic and contract procurement. Initially, you will be working remotely and in future, there will be a mix of on-site (London) and remote working.

Your new role
You will be operating within a politically complex environment and be required to lead the procurement programme and procurement team. You will be leading the development of the procurement strategy, taking into account standard government procurement frameworks. You will be working closely with the compliance and financial teams to ensure the chosen routes to market are compliant and achieving value for money, as well as engaging with existing commercial colleagues, providing advice and support, and commercial challenge. The role will also include reviewing procurement proposals, consulting external procurement experts, and working with other senior colleagues to deliver socially valuable procurements. You will be responsible for a team of procurement managers.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you must have a professional CIPS qualification and public sector procurement experience, including experience in leading and managing procurement activities and service delivery on large-scale construction programmes\/projects in the UK with portfolio values of greater than \u00A31 billion. You must have experience and knowledge of the UK construction supply chain and experience in developing strategic procurement at this same level, as well as demonstrable technical knowledge of macro and micro economic trends. Also required are extensive knowledge of known government procurement frameworks and of PCR 2015, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate confidently and tactfully, grounded in the principles of equality, diversion, and inclusion.
