Job description
Our client is a leading main contractor working in a Joint Venture to deliver major infrastructure in London. They have an exciting opportunity for two Site Agent's to join their utilities team on a permanent basis.
Job Description:
To manage multiple large-scale utilities works, including all major statutory providers and complex primary and secondary diversions.
To develop and integrate the diversions of either Foul and Potable water, Gas, UKPN or Comms packages together under the direction of the Senior Project Manager
To coordinate with the design team and other Project Managers to safely manage very complex interfaces both in design and construction phases.
To ensure that utilities designs for the new works are developed, and approvals received from statutory providers
To assist the Planning Team in developing an integrated programme for the whole utilities works
To develop necessary activities with all interfacing parties and track/monitor progress.
Raising of and actioning Early Warning Notices
Working with Procurement Team to procure suitable sub-contractors for the works and then managing the subcontractor(s) during their works.
To present schemes to the Utility companies and associated third parties and gain their buy-in to the project's proposals.
To understand the processes and procedures and ensure that the provision of the new utilities comply with the requirements.
To carry out project management activities for the works from design phase and through the delivery phase.
To ensure coordination of the Construction Team and the Commercial Team
To ensure adequate records are kept of meetings and actions arising.
To ensure that as-built and Health and Safety File information is provided.
To manage the agreed adoption processes for handover to the utility companies.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring effective planning, directing and coordination of the part of the works.
To lead in respect of matters relating to utilities at any Interface Meetings.
Manage trackers and reporting processes to provide progress updates on packages
Identify and notify any Early Warning Notices and lead on resolving these collaboratively with the Client and Subcontractor(s). Draft commercial correspondence including EWNs and Compensation Events.
Provide input and advice during the Procurement Process. Assist the Procurement and Commercial Teams in development of budgets and any incentivisation targets.
Lead in the management of the interface with utility companies. Ensure that any necessary network analysis and design work by the utility companies is instructed, and budgets managed with support from the Commercial Team.
Manage the Utilities sub-contractors in developing the Detailed Design for the works.
Ensure all pre-commencement deliverables are clarified, completed and demonstratable.
Run Progress Meeting with sub-contractors as necessary. Minute such meetings
Develop the adoption plan with the Utility Companies and deliver their reconfigured network back for them.
Manage the delivery of the necessary "non-contestable" works elements.
Carry out necessary coordination with other Contractors in the area.
Assist in developing an integrated programme for utilities with the Utilities Planner.
Ensure that the competency management process is complied with by the Construction Team and the sub-contractors.
Ensure that method statements, Risk Assessments ITPs, construction processes, engineering specifications, set out and measurements and quality control, certificates and compliances and carried out and recorded.
Qualifications:
Degree level or higher
Membership of an appropriate Professional body, typically Chartered member, working towards such membership, or hold an equivalent professional status.
Significant years experience as Project or Construction Manager for significant civil engineering construction project.
SMSTS qualification.
CSCS Card
Previous experience of temporary works, previous experience as a TWC preferred.
