Job description

The Department of Health and Social Care are seeking a Data Quality Engineer to join their team. The role is remote working.

Initial contracts will run until 31/03/2022

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. This engagement has been assessed by the public body as Inside IR35 legislation. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development of data quality capabilities and the performance of technical Data Quality assessment and analysis.
• Collaborating with the Data Quality Analysts to perform deep technical data quality analysis, including the provision of data fix files and engagement with source system technical leads to fix data at source and monitor improvements achieved.
• Develop Data Quality Engineering products including enhancing Data Quality profiling, matching, validation and verification routines.
• Collaboration with other data engineering teams to implement data quality controls as part of batch controls and testing routines.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in large scale data cleaning and preparation, creation and management of a Data Quality mart, data analysis and exploration and automation of data quality reporting.
• Key technical skills: Proficient in Python, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Azure Data Bricks, SQL, Microsoft Excel, and Dashboard/Visualisation tools (ideally Microsoft Power BI).

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 - General visas are cannot be accepted. This role requires that candidates be willing to undergo BPSS (DS) Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland).
