Job description

Job Title: Employee Relations Advisor

Location: Medway, Kent.

Hourly Pay Rate: £14.33-£16.96 (Depending on experience)

Contract Length: 3 months

Sector: Public Sector

Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint an Employee Relations Advisor for our client based in Medway. The contract is for 3 months. The successful candidate will have Public Sector experience, a generalist background and up to date knowledge of employment law.

Duties

To Support managers with disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment, sickness absence and performance management cases, including supporting managers in the preparation of cases at all stages of the procedure;
In conjunction with the HR Business Partners, advise and support managers in organisational change, ensuring the formal consultation with staff representatives and staff is carried out effectively and within agreed timescales;
To provide managers with advice on all aspects of Employee Relations, policies, procedures and good practice. Work with the Resourcing team and Organisational and Professional Development team to support on recruitment and training initiatives;
To act as designated HR Manager for specific Divisions / Care Groups;
To effectively monitor HR KPI's in relation to casework by regular analysis of the HR casework tracker;
In conjunction with the Organisational and Professional Development team, contribute to the development of training packages and deliver training to managers and staff on subjects such as bullying and harassment and managing sickness;
To contribute to the development and continual improvement of the HR service, for example, by commenting on and suggesting improvements to team procedures and ways of working;
To complete any other tasks commensurate with the role that may from time to time be required.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area;
Membership of CIPD to MCIPD level (or equivalent HR experience).

Knowledge & Experience

Up to date knowledge of employment law
Strong Public Sector background
Knowledge of best practice employee relations
Broad experience in an HR advisory role
Employee relations experience including complex cases and MHPS
Experience of working in a unionised environment
Experience of change management
Experience of development and implementation of HR policy
