An 'Outstanding' Secondary School in the Borough of Waltham Forest are on the hunt for a Finance Manager for an ASAP start. This is a permanent & full-time post.

This Finance Manager opportunity has become available due to the School giving a member of staff the experience and skill set to venture into a new phase of their career. You will be joining a high achieving and well-regarded Secondary School in a lovely area within the Borough of Waltham Forest that is only moving forward. You will be working with a brilliant out of class / back office middle management team that even though do not get involved with any teaching or learning are still very much a crucial part of the Schools every day running.

*This Finance Manager opportunity will involve the following: *

· To manage the Schools financial systems and maintain the link between the financial system and all feeder systems. Currently the School use Access Dimensions which imports data from Finance portal, Arbor, Scopay (Online payment provider), Cunningham's and HCSS Budgeting

· To proactively manage the process of updating the Schools financial systems at key points in the year e.g. admissions including managing the consent of Biometric information and collecting the data.

· To ensure all procedures in the Finance Department adhere to the School's internal controls framework and are adapted accordingly to reflect audit recommendations and the issuance of DfE guidance.·

· To build integrity to the data in the financial system by adding value to system generated reports and presenting these in a user friendly manner

· To assist with the strategic planning of the School via the production of monthly management reports and forecasts for review by the Academy Business Manager

· To act as a 'bridge' to facilitate closer working relationships between teaching and support staff

· To develop and implement best financial practice with all stakeholders and to communicate new practices across the School

· To manage and monitor Contracts for the provision of services and ensure they are secured in line with tender procedures and delivered according to Service Level Agreements

· To carry out monthly reconciliations of control accounts for review by the Academy Business Manager

· To maintain the School's fixed asset register

· To complete VAT returns and reconciliations

· Full Time Post - 52 weeks per year

· Salary £33,324 - £35,751 per annum - 25 days holiday per year

· Located in the Borough of Waltham Forest

*PERSON SPECIFICATION*

· Must be able to work in a School environment - A School environment is very different from your standard Corporate environment

· Must be able to work in a large team of different personalities & specialties

· You must be able to take direction from both the Principal & Corporate Service Executive

· Previous Finance Management experience is desirable - more experience, and success within the role, the better

· Must be able to carry out tasks to the highest level

· You must be able to meet deadlines, and go that extra mile when needed

· If you have worked in a School previously - This will be a huge benefit

· The School are eager to find someone who is eager to try new things, and generate income using different & out the box methods

· Ideally you will hold Finance related qualifications
