A career in our Global Compliance Services (GCS) business (within Tax services) will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across a unique but ever changing and increasingly important tax and accounting environment. This role gives you the opportunity to gain a wider and better understanding of PwC as the top professional services firm and develop your global skills working with multi-disciplined teams in countries across the globe.
The GCS team leads multi-country, multi-service engagements working with clients across the spectrum of markets and industries. The team leads large complex pursuits, manages contracting and transition programmes and oversees the delivery of services by our international and multi-disciplinary teams.
The role
We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our busy and diverse team which currently includes individuals based in London, Birmingham, Scotland and Poland (Katowice). The role will be based in our Birmingham or London office, with the expectation of some travel to London if based in Birmingham. This role will give you the opportunity to work across a range of targets and clients to help you develop further and progress within this key market for PwC. The market for GCS services has never been so strong so this is an excellent time to join PwC. You'll work as part of a UK and global team with extensive compliance and consulting experience, helping our clients solve their complex global compliance and business issues from strategy to execution.
Responsibilities
Business development and pursuit support
Working with more senior members of the GCS team, you will be expected to provide support on a range of market opportunities primarily in response to client RFPs. The role includes day to day management of pricing, assisting with client specific propositions and delivery models and client interactions.
Supporting senior team members with the pursuit of a selection of mid-tier targets/pipeline
Engagement Management
Proactively assisting on a portfolio of clients, reporting to senior members of the team;
Work as part of a team to manage day to day delivery of global projects and teams;
Develop and build strong relationships with stakeholders with client including regular and effective communication
Helping manage the governance of contracts including monitoring of KPIs and SLAs to help ensure quality of outputs and client service.
Helping manage any changes to scope and fees including leading client and PwC negotiations.
Work as part of a team to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria
Helping document detailed scoping and process assessments.
Review and suggest improvements to compliance and reporting processes considering data collection/manipulation, delivery approach and controls.
Essential skills and experience
Background and experience in corporate tax, indirect tax or accountancy and a clear commercial acumen
Strong written and verbal skills with a developed communication style.
Strong technology skills and willingness to embrace and apply developing technologies
Project management skills, and an ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor budgets.
Client management skills including working with international clients across multiple territories
Experience in supporting senior team members with developing and delivering major proposals to clients and targets.
