We are looking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the team here at BDA.

You will be instrumental in our mission to provide every student a great education and real choices in life, regardless of their background.

Our School

Ark Burlington Danes Academy is a superbly resourced, rapidly improving school with a rich history and high ambition. Our school was founded in 1699 and holds a special place in educational history as the first girls' school in London; we are fortunate to maintain ongoing links with our alumni network. In 2006, we became the founding school of the Ark network. We are a Church of England non-selective, all-through comprehensive school serving our local community, in an area of significant social disadvantage.

The role

In this role you will support the Inclusion team, and the wider school community, by taking responsibility for the engagement and learning of students identified as having social, emotional, mental health and behavioural needs.

We have vacancies for both a class-based member of staff and a LSA to work with children with additional needs. However, flexibility is key and will develop your skillset. Your day will be varied and rewarding, including teaching a phonics small group, supporting children with core literacy and numeracy skills, preparing resources, supervising safe play outside and leading other small groups and intervention activities. Our school vision expects all staff to want to make a difference and enable children to go to university or have a career of their choice. Our motto is that: every lesson counts, every pupil matters.

For more information about the role, please contact

Ark is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our academies. In order to meet this responsibility, we follow a rigorous selection process which will include questions about safeguarding. This process is outlined here , but can be provided in more detail if requested. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
