Job description

The Institute for Turnaround (IFT) is looking to appoint a Marketing and Public Affairs Executive to help develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and drive strategic objectives through communications. This role requires the ability to understand trends and issues in turnaround and business more generally, to articulate those issues and to form communications and advocacy activities around them. You will have strong communications, marketing and stakeholder relations skills.

Key activities will include promotion of thought leadership and advocacy; marketing IFT events; production of our in-house publication; web and social media communications.

The IFT is a not-for-profit membership organisation bringing together professionals working within turnaround and transformation. The IFT works to connect professionals, develop knowledge and learning for members, to inform the public, business and stakeholders about the benefits of transformation and turnaround to businesses.

Salary £26,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

Office based (London zone 1) with scope for working from home. 35-hour week.

Travel to meetings within London and occasionally further afield required.

Key role objectives:

  • Working with the CEO on raising the profile of the organisation and turnaround externally
  • Responsible for our communications plan, including creating content, defining and driving key messages and content out through communication channels and developing those channels
  • Understanding and analysing trends in key issues of interest to the IFT and members, and advising on appropriate positions and responses
  • Driving forward our stakeholder engagement approach, identifying value for each stakeholder group and mapping relationships
  • Collaborating with the Professional Development Executive on our events programme and promoting events, including our annual events; the IFT Awards Ceremony and the National Conference
  • Responsibility for social media and web content.
