Job Description & Summary
Within Technology, Data & Analytics our IT Controls practice is currently expanding and we're seeking talented, high performing professionals with strong IT controls advisory and implementation skills to join our team as an IT Controls Senior Associate.
We are looking for individuals to play a key role in delivering engagements including SOX and other IT controls advisory projects. We are looking for individuals with a strong background in IT risk, controls, and governance, who can take a key role in working with clients to deliver complex controls engagements.
Responsibilities
- Delivering client facing and internal IT controls projects
- Acting as a SOX and IT controls subject matter expert on projects
- Working in teams to both design and / or assess IT controls
- Identify IT controls exceptions, communicating these to management, and advising on potential control deficiency remediation solutions
- Documenting the results of your work in a risk and control matrix and / or report of recommendations
- Monitoring engagement progress and budget
- Developing and managing relationships with key client stakeholders
- Identifying and developing new client opportunities
- You will also have people responsibilities including:
- Developing junior team members through effective coaching and supervision
- Creating a positive and inclusive team environment
Essential skills & experience
- Technical knowledge and practical experience of IT controls design, implementation and testing
- Experience in designing and testing IT general controls and as well testing automated controls, key reports, spreadsheets, and segregation of duties controls in business processes
- Technical understanding of IT architecture - operating systems, networks, databases, application functionality
- Strong controls documentation skills and an understanding of IT risk and controls matrices
- Possession of strong team working and leadership skills
- A willingness to learn new skills and help develop and innovate new client propositions
- Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levels
- Strong report writing skills
- Accounting training such as ACA or ACCA (ideal but not essential)
- Ability to identify and address client needs, including developing and sustaining meaningful client relationships and understand the client's business
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Ability to develop new ideas into structured, deliverable projects
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, including communication with stakeholders of a non-data background
