Job description
Our Tax Sales and Marketing team are looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Professional to support Campaign development, qualification and execution across the Tax line of service. The role is critical to supporting the growth ambition in Tax, by ensuring we effectively drive propositions, solutions and our wider focus areas for growth into defined client target areas. We are looking for someone who has a solid sales background, who is results driven, and who is entrepreneurial in their ability to translate client issues into campaign activities.
This role sits and focuses at the earlier end of the sales cycle and is responsible for;
- Translate client issues into clear Tax value propositions
- Solution design campaign collateral and messaging
- Define client targeting and work with the wider relationship management and Industry team to create access to clients around the campaign value propositions.
- Review campaign performance to identify areas of success and gaps in client penetration.
- Articulate the sales message to wider Partner and Director groups to help create campaign momentum and success.
- Create links and opportunities for the firm by using the learnings from campaign execution to help shape future campaign execution.
- You will need to be resourceful, tenacious and have a drive to collaborate widely to promote true campaign success.
This role will report to the Head of Sales for Tax, and enable the execution of the sales strategy driven through the Markets and Services Partner for Tax and the Business Strategy Director.
You will be part of the Business development capability in the function and work closely with other business development professionals to provide sales enablement across the whole sales cycle. With substantial growth plans for the coming years and a requirement to create sustainable opportunity creation to drive this, we are seeking to recruit individuals to support us on realising the market opportunity.
Your responsibilities
- Translate client issues into clear Tax value propositions.
- Solution design campaign collateral, messaging, targeting, and timeline for campaign delivery.
- Define client targeting and work with the wider relationship management and Industry team to create access to clients around the campaign value propositions.
- Understand the size of the potential mark and define PwC's space to play and right to win.
- Assess propositions for campaign readiness and qualify campaign requests to ensure prioritisation and resource allocation is efficient.
- Review campaign performance to identify areas of success and gaps in client penetration.
- Articulate the sales message to wider Partner and Director groups to help create campaign momentum and success.
- Create links and opportunities for the firm by using the learnings from campaign execution to help shape future campaign execution.
- Develop strong partnerships with the business development insight team to ensure campaigns are powered by client and market insight to drive relevance.
- Skills and experience required
- Demonstrated experience in a business development role within PwC, or other complex service-focused organisations. Experience of Professional Services would be preferable albeit not essential.
- Commercial mindset and experience of generating new business, pipeline and opportunities.
- Experience of working with Salesforce is preferential, and a passion for analytics would be beneficial.
- Strong experience of developing and managing relationships with key decision makers, and influencing a wider team to mobilise behind a product or service to drive pipeline.
- Evidence of working with other teams in sales & marketing functions on cross-functional projects.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders at a senior level.
- Strong business and commercial acumen allowing you to analyse and interpret data.
- The proven ability to develop and drive a sustainable pipeline of opportunities.
- Previous experience of managing / driving sales campaigns with associated project management skills.
- You will develop a knowledge of key Tax priorities and propositions, whilst understanding the wider backdrop of the firm's growth strategy based on the growth accelerators and how they apply to your line of service.
- You will have a strong client focus and possess a professional resilience that helps you adapt to the changing aspects of the role and work towards driving external client facing activity.

This role sits within the Sales capability, part of Sales & Marketing, PwC's centralised support function, and covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development. We work together with the Clients and Markets Executive to build and sustain competitive advantage. *This can be based at any of our regional office hubs, but may require occasional London travel.
