Job description

At Thames Reach we are committed to helping homeless and vulnerable people to live in decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. Our vision is to end street homelessness and our aim is to achieve the highest standards of effectiveness in service delivery to vulnerable people.

We are looking for an organised and motivated Senior Practitioner to oversee the day to day functioning of Martha Jones House, our 50-bed complex needs hostel in Vauxhall. The hostel provides a range of accommodation and plays a central role in Lambeth's vulnerable adult's pathway.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and effective worker with transferable skills to progress into a management role and play a crucial role in influencing and developing our approach to delivering accommodation services.

The role requires creative joint working with the local authority and community-based services, our staff and residents to ensure that support is personalised, effective and measurable.

You will lead the team in supporting and encouraging clients to make positive changes to their lives. You will ensure the team are focused on increasing move on towards independence and that the environment is safe, healthy, reflective of our ethos and supports our service user's aims.

This will require you to be outcome focussed and able to foster a culture of high performance and continual striving to improve upon successes throughout your team.

You will be:

  • A decisive and effective leader.
  • An excellent communicator able to form and maintain effective working relationships with our stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and able to oversee the day-to-day operations of a hostel.
  • Confident and comfortable in using your initiative and prioritising the demands of the service.
  • Able to directly manage staff and oversee the management of others in line with Thames Reach policies.

As well as a great working environment we also offer:

  • Support to develop your leadership and strategic skills.
  • 6.5% employer & 1.5% employee contributory pension scheme, tuition aid and management specific training.
  • 29 days holiday and 8 paid bank holidays.

Thames Reach is committed to achieving a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We value, respect, and celebrate diversity. We welcome and encourage applicants from all sections of the community regardless of their history of homelessness, sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religious belief.

Closing date: Tuesday 07 December

Face to face interviews being held 16th and 17th December
