*We are currently recruiting support workers for both DAY and Night Shifts on a permanent basis, to join our team.*
Our services are based in Redbridge, Stanmore, Edgware, Harrow, Hendon, Kenton and Finchley
*Everyday tasks*
As a Norwood Support Worker, you will hold the important role of supporting adults with a range of disabilities and helping them enjoy each day by making sure they receive the highest standard of care and support they deserve. You will assist with everyday living, as well as providing emotional support and companionship. Everyday tasks can include supporting with personal care, mealtime, administering medication, accessing health care and recreational activities. It will be your upmost priority to enable and empower the people we support to live an ordinary life as active citizens in the community, by maximising independence and promoting their choices and decisions as much as possible. Every day will be different, so you can expect to undertake work that's as varied as it is rewarding. It's an opportunity to put your skills to meaningful use and develop your career.
*Example of Shifts Pattern*
*Day Shift* - Varied Shift Pattern including SLEEP INS/Overnight stay (you will be paid extra)
Example Shift Pattern for days - 7am - 10pm, 2pm - 10pm with a sleep in
*Night Shifts* - 20hr - 30hr or 40 hr shifts available
Example Shift Pattern for nights - 9.30pm - 7.30am
*About you*
* Experience of working with Adults with learning disabilities, including Dementia
* Moving and Handling experience
* A great team player, motivated, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships.
* Excellent listening and communication skills are essential.
* You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills, as well as good basic IT skills.
* A willingness to take part in internal and external activities is essential.
* Some experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or positive behaviour support is desired but not essential.
* NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care, although for the right candidate full training can be supplied.
* A full UK driving license and a willingness to drive Norwood vehicles is preferred, but not essential.

Mandatory vaccines in care homes have now been approved and will become a requirement from 11th November 2021.
