Trade and Merchandising Manager
£50,000 - £60,000
Monday to Friday (40 hour week)
Remote working;
Grafton UK are recruiting exclusively for a growing retailer to source an experienced Trade and Merchandising Manager to have a full responsibility for all merchandising and category management activity to drive online sales across the complete assortment portfolio.
In this challenging role, you liaise with vendors establishing long term strategy for the product assortment including but not limited to product recommendations, category page details such as product guides, product content improvement, cross sell and upsell opportunities as well as switch and save which will lead to improving key online KPIs.
To be considered for the role, you must have at least 5-7 years' previous experience in trading, merchandising and category management along with good knowledge of Mother & Baby Products.
List of responsibilities:
Product portfolio identification to be launched in the UK market; contracting of suppliers; specifying the conditions for procurement and ensuring the listing of products in relevant sales channels; maintaining the necessary coordination among all relevant parties.
Searching for new sales channels suitable to UK operations, and realisation of new sales channels according to the growth strategy.
Monitoring of supply chain operations within the UK (3PL) together with the Overseas Supply Chain Operations Manager in Turkey; keeping track of stock and sales reports, following up and trying to diminish relevant supply chain costs
Ensuring along with partners in Turkey that product images, content, price, campaign price, and stock information are sent to sales channels correctly, and checking them regularly on relevant IT systems
Preparation of campaign designs to be used in the UK market (together with the company's Turkey Marketing team) and monitoring of its implementation; conducting necessary collaboration to boost sales on existing platforms.
To be the first point of contact for the company's goods and services providers in the UK, and sustaining the relations on behalf of the business.
Supporting the import processes of the goods to be sold in the UK.
On-site support of the UK growth operations and taking an active part in the realisation of expansion projects.
Playing an active role to create and implement the pricing strategy of the UK products including private label branded product positioning and finding the sweet spot for all listed products
Providing the required support and follow-up to the Turkey team if there appears to be need for a physical store, office, or warehouse in the UK
Requirements for the Trade and Merchandising Manager
Strong demonstrable success in category management in mother & baby products
Track record of building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and 3rd party organisations.
Experience of all aspects of category management, purchasing and negotiation
Respectful, self-confident, and strong character with a hands-on approach to all tasks
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and economically
Flexible approach to prioritisation and a team player
Strong organisational ability and detailed
Dynamic, energetic, and positive minded character
Innovative and creative, with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
Articulate, with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to travel abroad on a quarterly basis
