Strategic Knowledge Manager (Public Health)
Salary: Circa £35,000 per annum + benefits
Contract Length: Permanent
Hours: Full-time., 35 hours per week (Compressed Hours considered)
Location: Stratford based (1-2 days per week in the office)

We act as a hub for evidence, assimilating and triangulating evidence from a range of internal and external sources. We bring considered and constructive input and challenge to conversations and decisions, encouraging consideration of all angles and working to ensure that we're directing our efforts in the best way and generating as much impact as possible. We look to the future and horizon scan for interventions and developments that are coming down the track. And we bring our knowledge of the evidence and expertise to crafting content and the creation of a range of outputs, particularly those seeking to support health professionals in their practice.

What will I be doing?
In this role, you will lead on the management of evidence, across the pillars of Prevent, Diagnose and Treat, ensuring that top level evidence is systematically captured, easily accessible and periodically updated, and therefore readily available to inform strategic decision-making and to feed into content.
To review, interpret and communicate relevant cancer-related evidence to ensure that our work to influence policy and practice for patient benefit is evidence based.
Make an impact every day by:
- Scope, deliver and maintain a mechanism for managing key evidence across Prevent, Diagnose and Treat and facilitate its use to guide optimal strategic decision making and content development
- Review and improve mechanisms to manage and triage evidence and insight requests from a range of teams,
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with key interface teams to ensure that key evidence is captured, updated and used.
- Develop a sound knowledge of the research evidence (peer reviewed and grey literature) and other data and insight relevant to cancer - both research and activities funded by CRUK and others
- Support the development and periodic review of the Directorate strategy to ensure our activities are directed to the areas and audiences where our impact could be greatest, working closely with Strategic Leads, Directorate Governance and actively feeding into and shaping 'Pillar'' activities
- Contribute to develop, review and sign off of evidence-based content
What skills are you looking for?
You'll be able to bring to the role:
- Significant relevant experience of working in the science, health or policy sectors
- Experience of working with databases or business intelligence tools, and ability to clean and map data
- Strong evidence searching, reviewing and critical appraisal skills
- Excellent ability to explain and quickly distil complex information, draw out the key points and make clear, tangible recommendations based on assimilation and analysis, and to build a consensus to enable action
- Proven ability to write concise, engaging reports, briefings and other content for a range of audiences, often at short notice and with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy
- Substantial experience of building effective working relationships with colleagues, researchers and other stakeholders, with an understanding of when and how to involve them
