Your new company
My Client is looking for a dedicated Senior Practitioner to join their dedicated team based in a Children's Residential Care Home located near Twickenham.

Your new role

* To provide day to day care of children and young people within an environment that promotes positive attachments and relationships.
* Lead and supervise the staff on shift to ensure that they carry out their duties and behave appropriately at all times. To support children young people in maximising their potential in a safe, caring and nurturing home.
* To achieve the highest standard of service delivery as measured by Ofsted against the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
* To identify and meet the physical, emotional, behavioural, cultural and educational needs of children and young people. To support the management team in all aspects of a child centred service. To provide supervision and guidance to members of the team.
* To present a positive light by behaving in a helpful and professional way at all times.

What you'll need to succeed

* Level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare or Equivalent (for example NVQ level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People).
* Work experience with children and\/or young people either paid or voluntary.
* Able to meet the requirement of the shift pattern.
* Able to handle own emotions without over empathising with the young person.
* Good knowledge of current legislation and able to support the home in attaining its legislative requirements (Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Ofsted, etc.).
* Participate in supervisions and appraisals in accordance with Achieving for Children's policy and procedures and the standards set in legislation.
