BI Analyst\/Developer- Permanent job- Basingstoke- Hybrid working

You will work alongside the Head of Data and Senior Data Engineer to assist in completely transforming the way the organisation's data is managed, through contributing actively to the current change programme (Data Transformation Project) to consolidate all data and reporting onto the Azure platform as a service solution and put in place improved processes.

We are looking for an experienced BI Analyst\/ Developer who has demonstrable experience working with internal customers to create and deliver reports that make data meaningful to support strategic business objectives.
You will be self-motivated and driven with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to bring data to life, with the ability to use data to tell a story to Senior Stakeholders.

Your new job
Working with the Head of Data and the rest of the Technology team to deliver a complete refresh of all Data solutions under the Data Transformation Project, through understanding stakeholder needs, current data flows and existing solutions, and being able to convert these efficiently into accurate, new data solutions and visualisations you will:

* Working closely with key business stakeholders (including Finance, Operations and Sales) to understand any complex, new insights that may be required, and then with Technology colleagues (across the Data, Product & Change, Engineering, and IT & Infrastructure functions) to deliver these
* Contributing data requirements to any solution selection, as well as provide technical solution design for migration of data from current systems into their replacements, including both business application data and end-user data
* Taking ownership of the data model, ensuring that the model and the documentation thereof meets the required standards;
* Playing a leading role in educating super users in the data available, and the use of data visualisation and analysis solutions, reducing manual effort and data exposure
* Working with the necessary stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, conducting the necessary detailed review of individual data items, through to enabling more automated validation to support more efficient change delivery
* Ensuring Data Standards are upheld in any development, so that security, data protection and audit requirements are included by design

Skills needed
Within your new role, you will be responsible for ensuring that data is provided to our internal customers, distributors and external stakeholders, whether this be high-level interactive performance indicators and dashboards, or detailed data extracts, across the Savings, Mortgage and Point-of-Sale Lending business The successful candidate will have previous experience using:

* SQL (SQL Server preferred) - SSIS, SSRS and Excel
* Designing MI\/BI solutions (e.g. PowerBI), and proven DAX skills
* Strong people skills partnering with Product teams, Technical teams, and Business leaders to identify solutions and resolutions to problems, to add value to the business
* Technical expertise in data modelling and data design, including modern data schema design (utilising Kimball methodology)
* Experience with documentation and specification writing
* Excellent report creation and design skills - and the ability to work closely with the business in definition of complex reports
* Be capable of improving systems by studying current practices; designing modifications and recommend controls by identifying problems and developing improved procedures
* If you have any knowledge of the integration of Azure, or Python, even better
