Responsible to: Adult Projects Lead

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Transformational Coach on the Age of Opportunity project. This is part of the Building Better Opportunities (BBO) project for Lancashire, funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund.

We are looking for someone who has significant experience of working with BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) communities, in particular older people. The successful candidates will understand the communities they will be working within (Pendle and Burnley) and the barriers to engagement BAME communities may face. Fluency in languages such as Urdu and Punjabi would be advantageous.

Age of Opportunity is a multi-partner project that aims to support people aged 50 plus who are most at risk of exclusion from the labour market. The project works with people to identify, reduce and/or remove barriers to engagement with the aim of supporting them back into education, employment and training.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals that services typically fail to reach. You will have knowledge of employment related support, have excellent communication skills and have good attention to detail.

We offer a workplace pension scheme, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), a sick pay scheme, paid emergency time off to care for dependents, regular supervision, and a variety of learning and development opportunities.

Please note: Lancashire Mind is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community, particularly candidates with lived experience of mental health conditions who fulfil all the criteria within the person specification. Due to the focus of these roles, applicants from the BAME community, and those who can speak Punjabi, Urdu or Bengali would be advantageous.

Deadline for applications: 9am on 6 December

Interviews will be held on 15 December via Zoom
