About You

With relevant qualifications and experience of estates and facilities management and the built environment, you will have in depth knowledge of Health & Safety and its application within an estates function. You will also have experience of managing in-house and outsourced facilities, within Higher Education or a similar building, in a planned and reactive maintenance management role across a large scale, diverse and technically complex estate.

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate a can-do attitude and self-motivation. A team player, you will be passionate about customer service and delivering excellence.

About the Role

Sitting within the maintenance function, this role is critical in ensuring that the University's building fabric is managed and maintained to the highest possible standard, providing a safe and compliant working environment for students, visitors and staff.

You will be responsible for leading on the implementation of the University's maintenance strategy, contributing to the strategic maintenance planning of the estate with responsibility for ensuring University buildings and facilities are accessible and maintained to the highest standard

You will provide strong line management and leadership to our in house maintenance team as well as taking on the role of Technical Expert in relation to the building fabric discipline, advising the Buildings & Maintenance Manager and the Head of Estates Management on the impact of any legislative changes or best practice in relation to building maintenance & compliance.
