Preston-based school, rated OFSTED good, seeking a Newly Qualified Teacher, starting September.

Your new company

An award winning primary school in central Preston is seeking a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT or ECT) to join their teaching staff on a permanent basis. The school has a supportive Senior Leadership Team, and the headteacher has received awards for his success at previous schools; he will offer ongoing support and guidance for the duration of your NQT year.

The school is diverse in terms of culture and academic ability, boasting a range of students from different backgrounds. Class sizes are approximately 28 pupils, with 2 classes per year-group. Although this is a mainstream school, you may work with SEN registered pupils (as part of a mainstream class).

Your new role

The school has vacancies in both Year 2 and Year 5, although they are willing to re-shuffle to accommodate the right candidate.

With ongoing support from the SLT, you will have full-class responsibility in your chosen year-group. This will involve class preparation, lesson delivery and assessment. Although the school are seeking a teacher on a permanent basis, there will be a 1 month temporary period (acting as a probation period), where you will work through Hays.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be on track to obtain qualified teacher status (QTS). Classroom based teaching experience is essential, including university placements or training schemes. A can-do attitude and passion for education is a must, as the school values these characteristics highly.

In addition, whilst on temporary probation, you will receive up to \u00A3115 per day. Once the role becomes permanent, you will receive a generous salary (negotiable with the school).
