Senior Geo-environmental Consultant / Remediation Engineer

£30,000 - £40,000 negotiable depending on experience

About the Role My client is a leading remediation contractor in the North West providing contaminated land remediation & enabling works packages. In order to do this our service offering also includes geo-environmental consultancy and demolition.

As a result of an ever growing order book my client is looking for a senior geo-environmental consultant to join the team. Working as part of the technical team under the supervision the technical lead, you will be responsible for managing and conducting site investigations and supporting site teams undertaking remediation works. Alongside the completion of traditional geo-environmental commissions (Phases 1 - 5) the role will include supporting the remediation team to ensure the works comply with remediation specifications.

The ideal candidate will have:-

Primary Skills
• An excellent academic record;
• A relevant first degree in engineering geology, or similar applied geoscience;
• 3-5 years experience in the assessment and/or remediation of brownfield sites;
• Ability to write & review Phase 1, Phase 2, remediation strategy & verification reports;
• Ability to interpret environmental & geotechnical specifications and assist the site teams;
• Knowledge of UK/EU standards;
• Understanding of geo-environmental/geotechnical/ground engineering;
• Willingness to manage and/or undertake site work (investigations & sampling);
• Good knowledge of waste classification and use of Hazwaste online;
• Professional affiliation & working towards Chartered status;
• Commercial aptitude and experience of pricing work & work winning

• Self-starter who can develop and deliver work under own initiative
• Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive
• Willingness and ability to travel and work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions
• Flexible with working hours and locations, frequent travel within 1 - 2 hrs drive of home office, and occasionally further afield
• Technically astute
• Confident communication skills
• Excellent report writing
