MI Reporting Analyst - Manchester

Your new company
One of the largest law firms around the globe which has quadrupled in size over the past decade who are looking for an MI Reporting Analyst. With its continued growth the firm is looking to expands its MI teams across the UK. The role will be based in Manchester.

Your new role

* The initial focus of the role will be to provide the Power BI expertise to the MI team, working with the Data Team to transition the reporting dependencies from centralised IT to self-service within the MI team
* Crucial to the role will be the ability to upskill colleagues within the MI team to enable them to develop Power BI capabilities and expand the teams capacity to support our clients and internal stakeholders
* The role will act as the key stakeholder in establishing reporting governance and protocols; responsible for design methodology and reporting documentation as the MI Team transitions to Power BI
* Building Analysis Services reporting models.
* Developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop, publishing to Power BI Server.
* Connecting to data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence & reporting.
* Gathering & understanding business requirements and develop data models accordingly.
* Working with the Data team to implement low level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI

What you'll need to succeed

* Excellent in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports
* Proficient in making DAX queries in Power BI desktop
* Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data set\/model
* Able to develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standards
* Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports & dashboards as per the business requirements
* Should have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis
* Should have knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, PolyBase, Visual Studio, etc
* Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications such as SharePoint and using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation. Also experienced in developing custom visuals for Power BI

* Able to engage and collaborate with teams across the business
* Experienced in quickly understanding the data and context
* Advanced problem-solving skills
