The General Medical Council are looking to recruit a permanent Social Media Specialist to join their growing teams based in Manchester. The GMC are the regulator for doctors in the UK. They help to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. They support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards and take action when they are not met.

Your new role

This role is an exciting opportunity to tell the GMC's story in a creative, clear and authentic way across multiple social media channels. At any one time, you might be persuading diverse candidates to apply for a job on LinkedIn, inspiring medical students to access their guidance on Instagram, supporting international doctors wanting to practise in the UK on Facebook, planning training for staff on managing their Twitter account, or filming their chair, Dame Clare Marx, for an International Women's Day post.

Working collaboratively with teams in communications and across the organisation you'll be at the forefront of creating innovative ways to promote the work of the GMC to our audiences and provide excellent customer service through their channels.

You'll help integrate social media as part of the wider strategy and and measure outcomes to drive engagement.

This is a full time position working 35 hours per week

What you'll need to succeed

You will have proven previous experience in a similar role running multiple social media channels to a variety of audiences. You need to be a great team player and have the experience and skills to plan and deliver effectively, working to processes you've helped set up with our experienced and ambitious team.
