Job description
The Project Engineer role works as part of the wider Engine team, taking a lead on specific projects and components, helping to shape the future of the product portfolio. A key part of the role is to take the lead in forwarding our Client's specialist technical knowledge base and working practices, managing projects, technical development and technical sign-off for a small group of engineers along with assisting the Team Leader in effectively managing the team.
Key responsibilities
1. Supervise a small team of engineers to design components and systems for new and updated engines with regard to manufacture, assembly and quality
2. Check CAD models, schemes and drawings produced by team.
3. Ensure reportees are following operational and quality procedures correctly;
4. Produce supporting documentation as required;
5. Liaise with internal departments such as Manufacturing, Quality and Assembly;
6. Liaise with outside suppliers;
7. Manage their own time and workload, as well as guiding reportees on the same.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Degree in an engineering or equivalent qualification.
2. Past experience of operating 3D CAD.
3. A minimum of 6 years experience.
4. Good understanding of the requirements for manufacturing in mass production;
5. A very good understanding of 4 stroke engines
6. The candidate should demonstrate good time management and very good technical
understanding of a broad range of some areas of engine design and development

Success metrics or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
You will be measured on OTIF delivery on various goals and performance indicators. These will depend on the focus area for the year. Overall success of your role will depend on the following measures but not limited to:
● Release of 3D and 2D designs against timing plan deadlines
● Release of supporting design information and calculations to allow robust product development
● Delivering end to end projects
● Managing and leading a team of project engineers and senior engineers to deliver projects and components
Scope and Impact:
You will be measured on OTIF delivery on various goals and performance indicators. These will depend on the focus area for the year. Overall success of your role will depend on the following measures but not limited to project relationships and gateway deliverables.

Experience Level:
● Past experience in engineering design of components and subassemblies.
● Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
● Experience of creating and releasing 2D technical drawings.
● Understanding of geometric tolerances on 2D drawings.
● Good understanding of motorcycle chassis layout and construction.
● Practical experience of vehicle maintenance and preparation is advantageous.
● Some experience in designing to Regulatory requirements as applied to motorcycles.
Qualification:
● Educational qualifications
○ Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Minimum of 2:1 required. Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably Pro-engineer / Creo or other CAD software
Attributes:
● Should be able to demonstrate good time management and excellent knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
● Good understanding of the design requirements for mass production manufacturing.
● Good technical comprehension of at least some areas of chassis layout, design & development.
● Past experience in analysis and optimisation of components and subassemblies preferred.
