Job description

We are delighted to be working closely with one of the leading not for profit providers in the UK. I'm looking to appoint a Healthcare Assistant (Nights) for a fully compliant home local to Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.

Role: Healthcare Assistant (Nights)
Hours: Full Time
Shifts: 7:00pm - 7:15am (Mon-Fri also including working alternate weekends)
Salary Up to £12.71ph
Location: Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire

The Company

This includes; nursing care for infirm elderly, respite care, step-up and step-down care, end-of-life care and an award-winning specialist dementia service that is studied internationally.

Key Responsibilities

- Attend to the personal care and wellbeing of residents; act as a key worker for a number of residents to ensure their needs are identified and met
- Understand responsibilities in relation to providing outstanding care, adhering to health and safety, food hygiene, fire precautions and emergency procedures, infection control and emergency aid and other Trust policies.
- Ensure the safeguarding of all residents, employees, volunteers and visitors to the Home through adherence to relevant legislation, procedures and codes of practice relating to care, health and safety, food hygiene, fire precautions and emergency procedures, infection control and emergency first aid.
- Active participation in training to ensure personal development and to build knowledge and competence relative to the role.
- Work effectively in a team and supporting the Senior Carer/ Care Leader in caring for residents during a shift.
- Take responsibility for identifying and resolving non-compliance or possible improvements including health and safety and other legislative and procedural requirements, through the line manager or Whistle-blowing route.
- Ensure residents are supported to make their own decisions in accordance with the mental Capacity Act. This will include ongoing assessment of capacity, gaining resident consent and supporting positive risk taking.

- Education and Experience
- Demonstrates a desire to work in care
- Understands the implications of working in a care setting
- Previous experience of caring for someone or experience of working in a residential care setting
