Strive For Excellence - Commitment to a collaborative environment infused with professionalism, integrity, passion, and accountability.As a Lead Java Engineer you will:Design, code and test softwareWork with the Product and Design teams to build new features to solve business problems and fill business needsParticipate in code reviews to create robust and maintainable codeWork in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of lifeContinually look for opportunities to improve our platform, process, and businessCommunicate and coordinate with our support and professional services teams to solve customer issuesHelp scale our platform as we expand and find the right balance between the power of a consolidated codebase and flexibility of microservicesApprox. 80% of the work will be backend development with approx. 20% front end developmentWe're looking for a Lead Java Engineer who has:Strong and demonstrable experience with enterprise software developmentA love for designing and programming Java web applicationsExperience working with a wide variety of systems and integrating APIs from third-partiesExperience working collaboratively with a globally distributed teamExperience with agile methodologiesPassion for keeping up with new trends and developments in the programming community and is eager to find ways to incorporate these new ideas into our codebaseGeneral database knowledge, including performance and optimisationSolid knowledge of test-driven development and CIExperience with developing SaaS products preferredWhere you will be:Location would be Reading, though a large part of your week could be spent working remotely if preferred.#IND2At Coupa, we have a strong and innovative team dedicated to improving the spend management processes of today's dynamic businesses.
