Special Needs Learning Support - Teaching Assistant - Innovative & Creative School

Camberley

We are recruiting for an excellent school that provides specialist aspirational education for young people aged 4 to 19 years with complex social communication needs.

The role is a full time, fixed position starting in as soon as possible. If successful, this will be a contract for the academic year, with potential permanent opportunities.

Special Needs Learning Support - Teaching Assistant - Learning Support Assistant

The School:

* Provides an innovative and creative environment that motivates pupil's engagement skills to interact and develop knowledge of the world around them
* Provides an individualised and creative curriculum to inspire pupils to continue to develop skills to be effective communicators with knowledge of how to self-regulate in order to maintain a calm, alert state where academic progress can be developed
* Offers a creatively broad and balanced topic based curriculum that covers academic pathways, underpinned by a structured and comprehensive knowledge of the world curriculum
* Enables young people to be challenged to become independent learners and continue their personalised educational journey to adulthood

Special Needs Learning Support - Teaching Assistant - Learning Support Assistant

Responsibilities:

* Build and maintain a successful relationship with the child and the class teacher
* Provide support to a Special Needs pupil with a personalised curriculum
* Be comfortable supporting and engaging with the class teacher

Requirements:

* To be a positive role model
* To have experience (personal or professional) with children that have Special Needs or a Degree in Psychology / Criminology
