*What does a Support Worker/Activity Coordinator & Driver do?*
The role of a support worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Supporting someone with a learning disability isn't just personal care, you could be taking people shopping, cinema, bowling, spending days on trips out and many more activities.
• Assist in planning a daily timetable of activities for the service users supported within the service.
• Assist with accompanying service users on activities and holidays.
• Take into account emotional, psychological, physical and behavioural needs when planning and offering a service.
Transporting staff to and from mutual points, to the service ready for their shifts. Also to help with medication collection and food shopping when required. You will also be required to take responsibility for the Day Care budgeting, delegating responsibilities and monies where appropriate.
*Where would I work?*
Linden Farm is a home for 10 adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, such as Autism, Epilepsy, communication difficulties and mental health. We currently support 4 ladies and 6 men, with a team of about 5 5 staff supporting the service users every day.
Linden Farm is a flagship supported living service located in Alfold surrounded by picturesque scenery. Not only is this a fantastic place to work, no day is ever the same. Our staff have strong values and we are looking for people who are trustworthy, reliable, driven and dedicated. Training: Training is provided to ensure that staff are working in line with legislation, policy, best practice and for your and others' safety, as well as your continued professional development.
All training is mandatory, and you will complete your care certificate within the home, however some training will take place our regional training offices.
*What experience do I need?*
Must have good general standard of education. Experience of working with adults with a learning disability or challenging behaviours and of working as a part of a team is essential.
*Will I need a driving licence for this role?*
Yes, a full valid UK driving licence is essential for this role. You must be able to transport yourself to the service, then you will use a company vehicle to transport staff to and from the service ready for their shifts.
