Deputy Head (Pastoral)

Charterhouse is on an ambitious pathway of growth and we now seek an outstanding Deputy Head (Pastoral) to join our Senior Leadership Team at an exciting and important stage in the School's co-educational journey. Building on the success of our co-educational Sixth Form - where girls have flourished since 1971 - we are moving to full co-education from the age of 13 by September 2022 and we welcomed our first girls into the Fourth Form (Year 9) and Removes (Year 10) in September 2021.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious pastoral leader to contribute to the development of Charterhouse as a school which is distinguished by the excellence of its co-educational provision and for the highest standards of boarding and pastoral care. The successful candidate will be making a vital contribution to the reputation of the School as it embraces change and will be part of the team to realise the School's wider ambitions. For individuals aspiring to headship, this post offers an excellent opportunity to develop as a leader in a highly ambitious and successful organisation on a clear upward trajectory.

The appointed candidate will combine a track record of success in middle or senior leadership with creativity and passion to deliver world class pastoral care. A key player on the Senior Leadership Team and within the wider Charterhouse community, the successful candidate will bring excellent communication skills and the personal authority to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents. Experience of boarding is essential as is a commitment to boarding culture and co-education.
