Job description
Activate Learning are now looking for a Job Coach to join our friendly team at Guildford College to support young people with SEND who are on the Employability programmes within our LLDD department.
In this role you will support young people with learning difficulties and or disabilities to access work placements with the view to them gaining sustained paid employment. You will source and organise appropriate work placements in line with young peoples aspirations, and keep accurate records of learners progress whilst they are placement. You will act as an ambassador for young people with SEND in the economic community and promote their abilities and potential positive contribution to the working population.
The role will also involve liaising with the curriculum teams to provide pre training, on the job training and support for young people and employers, liaising with tutors as appropriate to progress young people to Supported Internships/Employment wherever possible. You will diligently record leaners progress using identified paperwork and compete the necessary health and safety paperwork to ensure the workplace is compliant in meeting the Colleges' minimum standard and is a safe environment for the learner.
This is a permanent, term-time only role working 37 hours per week (0.84 FTE). The hourly rate offered for this position is from £9.78 - £10.68ph depending on skills and experience.
(Term time only salary calculator - your pay will be based on your working hours per week, multiplied by the number of weeks worked, plus 6 weeks holiday and will be spread equally over 12 months).
What do you need to be successful in this role?
You will have significant experience of working with young people with SEND in a teaching or training environment and be able to break down and simplify job roles and to give clear and explicit instructions. With excellent communications skills, you will also be able to build positive networks and relationships with others. Experience of working in an FE environment is desirable.
