About This Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a PET-CT Radiographer or Technologist to join our team in Guildford working in our fast paced PET-CT unit offering NHS, Private and Research scanning.

This role offers a salary of between £31,365 - £40,469 per annum (dependent on experience).

This is a full time role working 40 hours per week.

As a Radiographer / Technologist at Alliance Medical you will be responsible for adhering to protocol and procedures to produce high quality images and an exceptional standard of patient and customer care. Our focus is on team work and working together to provide the best service for all in an environment that encourages learning, development and support.

We are ideally seeking individuals who have experience in conducting basic PET-CT examinations, however this is not essential as we will provide specific training through our Clinical competency framework. We are also interested in individuals who have experience in IV cannulation however this is not essential as again we can provide training.

Work in accordance with the standards set out by the Health & Care Professions Council or other voluntary register if applicable.
Maintain all mandatory training commensurate with the role, and take responsibility for own professional development
Be familiar with the principles of the NHS Constitution, and aim to provide the highest level of service to all stakeholders in compliance with the CQC framework
Be familiar with and practice the requirements set out around Duty of Candour
Be aware of and able to implement the principles of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Children
Maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business and meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act (1998) at all times
Adhere to the AML policy for Moving and Handling, ensuring patient comfort at all times
As a registered healthcare professional you are responsible for ensuring that:
your practice, so far as is reasonably practicable, protects patients, staff and other persons against risks of acquiring Health Care Acquired Infections (HCAIs)
where patients present with an infection or acquire an infection during treatment, that they are identified promptly and managed according to good clinical practice to treat the infection and reduce the risk of transmission
Financial Responsibilities
Have an awareness of the Unit's/Business Area's budget and performance targets
Maintain appropriate levels of clinical stock to ensure that service provision is facilitated in a cost effective way

Actively support, through your actions, the marketing and promotion of the company

Operations
Work within site protocols and procedures to ensure the delivery of a quality service and report any changes required to the Lead Radiographer/Unit Manager
Liaise with service engineers to facilitate maintenance of equipment, to achieve optimal operational conditions
Complete reports as directed by Lead Radiographer/Senior /Unit Manager/Manager to ensure accurate collation of KPIs
Ensure sound knowledge of site RIS systems - both AML and local to ensure all data is recorded in an accurate and timely manner
Employees must be aware of the responsibilities placed on them under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and any subsequent relevant legislation and must follow these in full at all times, including ensuring that they act in line with all agreed procedures at all times in order to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Work in an efficient and effective manner to maximise patient throughput
Escalate to the Manager, Clinical Lead, Senior or Unit Manager any identified issues requiring further management input
Ensure full compliance with all current AML Policies and Procedures, Local Rules and extant legislation; highlighting any changes to operational protocols, procedures and SOPs within own area and contribution to their review
Assist with incident and complaint management in an appropriate and timely manner
Actively participate in departmental audits
Be reflective in thinking and outlook and be able to source advice, coping with multiple demands during the working day
To identify customer and patient needs, delivering the best possible patient service and care.
To liaise and communicate with appropriate personnel, as required, to include PMC, Logistics, scanning technicians and management colleagues.
To achieve minimum patient and staff radiation doses by appropriately applying local rules, IRMER and Operational Policies
To maintain appropriate records for each patient including:
- patient demographics,
- dosage of administered radiopharmaceutical
- archive images to appropriate storage media
To undertake Quality Assurance programmes as specified in Operational Policies
To appropriately act upon any problems raised by QA results by notifying:
- Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS)
- Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA)
- Line Manager
- Scanner manufacturer
Arrive at work at designated time, correctly dressed in Company uniform.
Work within AML Operational Policy guidelines and all other relevant Company policies and procedures.

Maintain internal condition of scanner and equipment to highest standard.
Monitor and maintain supplies of stock, stationery, consumables.
Accurately complete relevant paperwork and submit to appropriate persons.
Ensure the Monthly Reports Compiled and Returned:
H+S ? Health and Safety Representative
Monthly Scanner Damage ? Health and Safety Representative
Monthly Maintenance ? Health and Safety Representative
Ensure that Fault Reporting is correctly documented and any outstanding issues are followed up, contacting Logistics as necessary
Ensure that maintenance/repairs are performed and associated documentation is correctly processed.
Ensure Stock Levels Maintained as Appropriate
Purchase any stock items not available via the Stock Order Form.
Ensure Unit Clean / Tidy.
Liaise with Logistics to ensure that scheduled cleaning is carried out.
Ensure All Relevant Notices Displayed:

EA Licence for Sealed Sources
Local Rules
Ensure documentation is up to date and obsolete documents disposed of appropriately.
Ensure electronic documentation is up to date and that the laptops are consistent / tidy.
Prepare and agree annual Personal Development Plan with line manager.
Attend annual appraisal.
Provide evidence of Continuing Professional Development as determined by appropriate professional body and T&D Policy.
Develop professional skills through formal and informal continuous learning.
Prepare annual objectives aligned to Company objectives.
Attend mandatory Resuscitation and Manual Handling lectures as required.
Receipt of Referrals: Inputting patient data from referrals to RIS system.
Query referral: Liaise with consultant to assess an appropriate date for patient to be booked.
Bookings: Booking PET patients into appointment slots, preparation procedures given
Retrospective bookings procedure
Patient completion: interpret the information on the data form and input the data onto the RIS system.
Contracts
Have an understanding of the Unit(s)/Mobile sites contractual agreements
Assist the Unit Manager/Operational Manager in ensuring full compliance with all contractual clinical KPIs
Managing Change

Demonstrate a problem solving approach to issues arising at a local level, highlighting areas of concern to the appropriate personnel and actively participate in the subsequent change management process

People Management Responsibilities
Assist with the supervision, coaching and mentoring of Graduate Radiographers, Radiographer,Assistant practitioners and Clinical assistants
