Job description

We require a painter and decorator to work across our East Sussex sites, redecorating empty bedrooms and completing decoration of internal common areas. You will work as part of a wider maintenance team and amongst project staff to ensure that the homes we offer young people are a high quality and a place where our residents can feel welcomed and valued.

Top Criteria

  • You will have excellent painting and decorating skills and will be committed to providing a good service and are aware of the role you play in transforming the lives of the young people we support.
  • You will regularly work independently and sometimes as part of a team, including supporting apprentices to complete their training. You will need to be able to work flexibly and be able to effectively prioritise your work.

Top Responsibilities

  • You will undertake both responsive and planned maintenance of painting and decoration services to properties owned or managed by the YMCA and on occasion at external contracts and may occasionally assist with day-to-day maintenance at YMCA DLG sites
  • You will prioritise the workload according to impact on the service and young people, managing and keeping records of work and work requests using YMCA calendar and Facilities Management systems

Key Requirements

  • This role involves daily driving and you will need a full valid Driving Licence
  • You will have a relevant qualification in Painting and Decorating (eg City & Guilds, NVQ etc) or substantial experience

Expected working pattern: Monday to Friday, wither from 8.00am to 4.00pm or 9.00am to 5.00pm
