We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Worker to work holistically and a psychologically informed approach to support young people based in East Sussex. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £23,530 per annum (pro-rata) Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pmYMCA Downslink Group supported services provide safe accommodation and opportunities for young people who have been made, or are at risk of becoming, homeless. We offer a holistic support package and actively encourage residents into education, training, employment or voluntary work. We provide transitional housing for 132 young people aged 18 to 35, across 20 sites in Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill. As our Project Worker, you will work with the Projects Manager, Senior Project Worker and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our community accommodation projects. This includes delivering one to one sessions and group work sessions to assist residents to develop personally and socially in order that they grow in confidence and move towards independence.Key responsibilities of our Project Worker include:Sharing responsibility for the effective day to day operation of all the projects within the local area, in accordance with the agreed policies and procedures.Ensuring that all residents receive an appropriate level of care, support and training according to their needs in a asset-based and outcomes-focused way.Carrying a case load of young people and to engage them in effective support planning, working towards tailored goals so they can work towards positive outcomes.Complying with all YMCA DLG policies and procedures, in particular Safeguarding Children and Adults, and Equality and Diversity, at all times and abide by the Code of ConductAttending appropriate continuing professional development and training events and be committed to team eventsSupporting with any other appropriate duties as directed by the Projects Manager Our ideal Project Worker will have:A good basic education including GCSEs or equivalentA relevant youth, housing or support work qualification is desirable but not essentialAn understanding of the needs of young homeless clients aged between 18-35 years.Experience of working in supported housing or in a residential settingGood administrative, numeric, organisational skills and computer literacy skillsThe position comes with excellent benefits, including 27 days annual leave per annum (plus bank holidays), a company sick pay scheme, a life assurance policy of 2x your annual salary, a health and wellbeing cash plan, and a cycle to work scheme.
