Job description

An opportunity has arisen to work within our unique service and be integral to the support and development of the peer mentoring and positive health programmes.

We are looking for an experienced individual, ideally with lived experience of HIV, who can work on their own initiative and be part of a great community services team.

The Sussex Beacon is a charity that offers medical and social support to people living with HIV.

This role covers the co-ordination and support of the Community Team Peer Mentoring service and Positive Living Programme, which delivers regular mindfulness courses, and physio led exercise classes.

You will improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of people living with HIV through assessing need, 1:1 support and group work and supervising a group of trained volunteers to do the same.

You must have experience of:

successfully recruiting and managing volunteers, including for group supervision
organising and promoting groups and courses, by working in a multi-disciplinary way
working within a health, social care or charitable setting
supporting vulnerable adults.
