Job description

This is a superb career opportunity for a Midlands based Network Performance Analyst, to join a thriving and expanding IT Division in Warwickshire.

The role will be split between Warwickshire and home based (50/50 from new year).

Reporting to the Technical Operations Team Leader, the main purpose of the role is to ensure the delivery of the successful operation of a portfolio of applications and infrastructure services.

This is to be done through active management of incidents problems and service issues, by monitoring and appropriately responding to alerts from their suite of performance management tools.

Key accountabilities:

  • Use the suite of monitoring tools to review, analyse and evaluate, software and network events to correctly diagnose and resolve incidents and investigate problems, within stipulated SLAs.
  • Work with Internal IT team and 3rd party suppliers to Manage the stability and performance of Test and Production environments for all applications, severs and infrastructure.
  • Package, appropriate applications, following agreed ITIL driven standards and controls around the DML and PAL documentation, and working with the Testing team, to deliver a working, supportable product to the estate.
  • Identify, evaluate major IT environmental issues affecting the IT estate especially those relating to resolution of live technical incidents and systems problems as and when required.
  • Identify, propose and implement improvements for the IT estate to drive continuous improvement in the delivery of quality and efficiency that meet recognised IT standards.
  • Deliver short term/one off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with the Line Manager.

Ideal experience:

  • As a Network Performance Analyst, you will the type of person who has a genuine passion and understanding for all things analytical - you'll be used to manage and prioritising multiple requests across different environments to support different areas of the IT estate, as well as having good knowledge and experience of supporting and monitoring of a range of applications and infrastructure
  • Experience of configuring dashboards used to monitor various aspects of IT infrastructure and applications
  • Experience working with ExtraHop
  • Experience working with Grafana
  • A working knowledge of TICK Stack (Telegraf, InfluxDB, Chronograf, Kapacitor)
  • IT Event Management experience
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud environments
  • Knowledge of conveying monitoring data visually
  • Knowledge in Windows Operating systems
  • Knowledge in Python
  • Knowledge in standard protocols (DNS/Mail/FTP/SSH, SNMP, etc)
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • ITIL Foundation or working towards

Our client is happy to offer its employees informal homeworking. The team is located in Stratford-upon-Avon and it would be expected that on average, 50% of your working time would be located from this office, with the remaining days home based should you wish.
