Job description
Purpose and Scope of Job Responsibilities:
- Direct responsibility for the financial management, monitoring and control of WAGO Limited
- To lead and manage the WAGO finance team
Principle Accountabilities:
Monitor actual performance against budget and any forecasts to ensure the attainment of company finances and profit objectives.
Production of the monthly management accounts, variance analysis and supporting schedules, together with half year end and financial year end processes to ensure that strict deadlines are achieved
Working closely with and producing timely and accurate reports for the Senior Leadership Team including financial and economic analysis of the business to assist the senior leadership team in making informed business decisions (ROI, NPV, cash flow, etc.)
Support the SLT & sales team and work cross functionally to maintain and drive the increase in Group Margin
Effectively manage the working capital components of the Company particularly stock, debtors, cash balances and cash flow
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations including managing fixed assets and depreciation
Managing & Ensuring that the relevant financial controls & procedures are met and maintained across the sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash book and bank
Monitoring, maintaining and controlling the company's product costing system including supporting the Engineering Team's cost calculation of locally assembled goods
Working with the Production Planning Team in the monitoring & control of stock/inventory
Analysis of the order pipeline and sales reports
Work closely with the auditors, supporting the annual financial audit process
Fiscal/tax planning and control - including returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted and all relevant regulations are complied with
Supporting the Director of Finance, IT & HR in the organisation and execution of financial year end stock takes
Supporting the Director of Finance, IT & HR in forecasts and financial budgetary process where required
Identifying and driving through the automation of finance processes and SAP in order to keep pace with the business development
Financial control and analysis of major capital and revenue expenditure
Auditing internal financial controls
Ad hoc tasks as required
People
- Effectively manage, motivate and develop a team of 3

General:
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with the Senior Leadership Team, auditing companies and banks
- Play an active role in assisting and advising on risk assessment and business continuity
- Regular reviews of the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial, operational and compliance controls, updating as and when required
- Active management and control of overheads
- Challenge the status quo and drive through changes
- Implement continuous improvements
Knowledge/Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes:
- CIMA or ACCA qualified are a pre-requiste for this role
- Experience with ERP, preferably SAP
- Knowledge of UK Accounting Standards
- Working knowledge of UK statutory and tax and legislation
- Microsoft Office including intermediate to advance in excel
- Competent in the use of Business Mining Tools, the analysis, summary & presentation of large volumes of data
- Excellent presentation skills
