Job Overview: Working exclusively with our business partner, Arburg a premier plastic injection mould machine tool supplier, we are seeking an experienced Automation Project Engineer with good automation systems and robotics experience to join their team.
Role Expectations:
* As Project Automation Engineer you will have good experience of working with bespoke and turnkey automation projects for predominantly injection moulding customers across UK and Ireland, being the go-to champion within Arburg within this specialist discipline.

* You will undergo extensive hands-on training both within the UK and Germany for understanding Arburg's product and systems portfolio
* You will work closely with the Commercial, Technical and Engineering arms of the business to best meet the core essentials and requisites of the customer's manufacturing needs, being the pivotal communications conduit throughout the automation project cycle from concept to completion.
* As Project Automation Engineer you will have the full support of the Technical & Commercial team regarding project marketing, lead times, project deliverables and Arburg machine / robot & controls systems augmentation.
* You will be expected to be a confident and clear English communicator and possess good IT and project management skills.
* You must be technically minded with a strong appetite for learning cutting edge technology, have an enthusiastic and resilient persona, with a can do-will do acumen.

Objective:
* To liaise with customers in detail to provide turn key automation solutions as required to suit Arburg customer needs.
* To prepare and present concepts & quotations working closely with the UK sales team, UK based automation companies and Lossburg's project team.
* To increase project business to compliment robotic system sales.
Responsibilities:
* Actively discuss customer's automation requirements and to then work with the automation project team in ARBURG GmbH, Lossburg and/or UK based automation companies alike to promptly offer suitable automation concepts.
* Take on project management to automation and projects from concept to FAT/SAT, commissioning and liaising with sub-suppliers where required.
* Visit UK and Irish based customers as required.
* Present concepts in power point, in order to explain automation concepts and ideas to potential customers through the tendering process.
* Be proficient in utilising CAD/CAM simulation software.
* Create quotations based around Navision software.
* Control all commercial and budgetary aspects with each project.
* Actively taking charge of setting up in-house or external exhibitions involving automation.
* Provide an important link between external/internal sales/applications engineer/external service engineers/ARBURG GmbH Lossburg's project team & customers.
* Provide technical assistance to internal/external sales.
* Provide training on machines, robots and automation in the absence of our applications engineer.
Key Skills & Experience:
* A professional manner is essential, both face to face and via telephone/email
* The ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels from technicians to senior management
* Prepared to be flexible in terms of working hours - when required
* Ability to work to manage projects to tight lead times whilst delivering within budget
* Experience in managing projects from concept through to FAT / SAT
* Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
* Experience of using 3D CAD software packages
* Sound decision making and problem-solving skills
* Self-motivated and confident with taking responsibility for all areas of work
