Job description

Commercial Manager - FM/PFI - Home Based

This newly created role sits within a central department that has a wide ranging remit including analysis of information, contractual disputes and claims, governance of FM projects, libraries and templates of information as well as a couple of small contracts to manage.

You will play a key part in various projects, disputes and claims as well as the management of the divisions wider data collection, management and control.

You will be a highly motivated commercial manager joining a new team, able to shape the role by building and maintaining close and valued relationships with the wider commercial colleagues and operational teams, founded on good commercial practices and behaviours. You will establish and maintain a known one stop shop for commercial documents and processes.

Processes and controls
Provide assistance to the Commercial Director in collating information and production of associated commercial reports to the sector senior team, the wider group and external customers and government bodies
Manage and hold commercial health check reviews ensuring programmed activity is carried out and actions closed down
Assist in the internal administration of any agreements, approvals etc ensuring due process is followed
Identify significant risks and opportunities, prioritising activities to secure opportunities and mitigate risks, keep business fully informed and aware
Ensure central commercial data and documents are up to date including CDR library of contract documents
Provide support for commercial training and holding library of training collateral
Provide assistance to Head of Commercial on contract disputes and claims including inquisitive deep trawl for relevant information
Provide support to Head of Commercials on specific projects

Performance
Support accounts in getting variations, projects and other agreements approved in line with business governance.
Provide link to other group or BU functions for example insurance claims
Report on all of the above as needed - fully, accurately and with insights that will drive even better performance over time
Manage and carry out focussed commercial audit programme as agreed with the Head of Commercial

Knowledge Skills & Experience
Relevant Commercial experience including management and development of good commercial behaviours; resolution of commercial disputes
Self managed with the ability to shape, lead and deliver projects and knowing when to touch base with Head of Commercial for guidance or updates
The ability to work collaboratively with peers - including operators and functional experts, on-site teams and clients and external stakeholders
Analytical, good with numbers.
Comfortable with reading understanding and applying complex contract terms
Able to spot risks and opportunities and present options to resolve.
Experience of commercial management with facilities management and PFI contracts
Ability to express thoughts clearly and succinctly whether written or spoken delivering the key message
Relevant professional and/or academic qualification for example MRICS.
