Job description

Our Client is a leading manufacturer of off-highway vehicles for the construction industry.

Following a period of new prototype development, they now seek a contract Development Technician with a proven track record of success within a similar vehicle development environment.

The Role:

Reporting to the Lead Development Engineer and working closely with development and design engineers, the successful candidate will be required to work within our development engineering workshop where they will be involved in the following -

* Reports on testing conducted and conclusions drawn from test results

* Conducting a variety of proving tests either on site or other locations as required

* Build/develop and run test rigs

* Modify existing vehicles for testing

* Build new prototypes

Knowledge of vehicle systems is essential especially hydraulic and electrical together with previous experience of working on construction and/or agricultural machinery in a similar, service or maintenance role. Knowledge and / or practical use of commonly used vehicle test equipment are preferred but training is available where necessary.

This job carries a responsibility to ensure all aspects of health and safety are considered. For this reason, good communication together with basic PC skills are essential.

Candidates will need to have completed an apprenticeship or training and be educated to at least City in Guilds technician level in mechanical or agricultural engineering or higher.
