Job description

Process Technician sought by a world leader in the manufacture of automotive components. They provide quality products, services and solutions worldwide with customers in over 150 countries. This role will be a 6 month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.

The Role:
Reporting to the Process Coordinator, as Process Technician your duties will include:

Maintain and follow Health & Safety requirements especially with the handling of chemicals
Drive Right First-Time capability improvement actions targeting scrap, rework and cart downtime issues
Maintain process parameters and machine calibrations within standard specifications
Programme new products coming to line including Robot, Pour and Vision programs to master set up
Completion of product audits along with relevant functions and prioritise actions identified
Provide accurate, relevant data from action or investigations and log in online shift reporting
Work as a team with Team Leaders, Tooling Tech's, Quality and Maintenance Techs on shift
Maintain and improve 5S standards
Attend Kaizen workshops as and when required
Follow required emergency prevention and operational controls
Report all accidents, occupational illnesses and emergencies
In addition to the above, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined
The successful Process Technician should have:

Higher Education qualification in Engineering or a relevant technical subject
At least 12 months experience in a manufacturing facility / plant environment
Ability to take actions, decisions and to generate ideas, products, processes in promised timely manner; involvement in designs or other work requiring creative imagination
Ability to identify and eliminate health, safety, ergonomic and environmental hazards in workplace
Ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside/ outside the company and to interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives
Ability to empower others to achieve results through motivation, recognition and performance feedback
Ability to express information appropriately to different levels of people & lead negotiations
Ability to recognise, respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency and even increase expectations
Ability to take full responsibility for decisions & results even when all elements are not under individual direct control
Ability to set goals in line with company objectives and adapt plans to changing environment
