Job description

A state-of-the-art R&D laboratory facility supporting the development and testing of novel battery designs is now looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Storage. They Require a skilled and highly motivated Senior Design Engineer to develop the detailed specification of production equipment design required to progress technology established in research through to manufacture.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Storage will:

Development of novel processes, equipment, and fixtures for battery manufacture to drive the design of pilot lines and production facilities.
Proactive risk assessment through thorough scrutiny of processes and equipment design.
Detailing of parts and drawings for communication with downstream teams and external partners.
Improve processes through calibration and assessment of equipment and maximise process control through statistical analysis of processes and fixture design.
Intellectual Property (IP) Generation to maintain and enhance the competitive advantage our technology.
Contribute to FMEA / DFMEA's to continuously improve safety and reliability of processes.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Storage will have:

A university-level degree in an engineering or related scientific discipline.
Prior experience within a design for assembly role in a manufacturing engineering environment, preferably within the battery, electronics, photovoltaic/solar or semiconductor industries.
Expert level NX CAD skills (or equivalent) and knowledge of drawing best-practices.
Knowledge of materials used in energy storage and associated process tolerances is highly desirable.
Prior experience using FEA software and Teamcenter to develop and track cell requirements and Bill of Materials (BOM) is highly desirable
