Head of Operations & Supply | \u00A340k+ per annum | Barnsley | Permanent

Your new role
A new and exclusive opportunity within South Yorkshire has arisen for a Head of Operations & Supply. As Head of Operations & Supply will oversee and review operational processes to optimise operational efficiency, and ensure cost, quality and service targets are achieved. You will be responsible for leading & developing the operations and purchasing teams offering support in negotiations and devising strategies which drive performance improvements against clearly defined objectives in each function.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

* Responsible for the planning and performance of core operational and supply chain functions; Inventory management, procurement, warehouse operations and logistics.
* Leadership of a management team of 6, with total headcount responsibility of 70 people
* Leader in site health and safety
* Development of operations and supply strategy, incorporating the introduction of new technologies and best practice processes
* Effective management of key third party relationships such as suppliers, carriers, packaging and service providers
* To provide leadership which manages, motivate, and engages employees to maximise their performance and productivity
* To drive efficiency by controlling costs through ongoing planning, resource, and workflow evaluation to ensure waste is removed and continuous improvement is achieved
* Proactively optimise departmental performance through design and monitoring of challenging KPI's implemented via the management teams which report into this role
* Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and maintain compliance standards across all targeted areas, including ISO accreditation
* Manage and oversee the execution of company HR processes, including health and safety, recruitment, performance management, time and attendance and disciplinary proceedings

What you'll need to succeed

* Extensive supply chain experience incorporating responsibility for managing purchasing and distribution functions
* Self-motivated, positive attitude with the ability to work on your own initiative
* Ability to identify opportunities for efficiency with demonstrable evidence of achieving operational management of KPI's and SLA's delivering performance improvement
* Effective at devising strategic plans with strong organisational skills
* Able to demonstrate both a commercially focused and customer focused operating style with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Proven ability to build, coach and develop high performing teams
* Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation
* Understanding of HR policies and procedures
* An excellent knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and outlook and experience of using ERP\/MRP systems
* Strong stakeholder management skills
