(Please tell us on your application form if you do though!).A bit about Tutor TrustWe are Tutor Trust, an award-winning Manchester-based professional tutoring service provider run on a strictly not-for-profit basis. Our mission is to transform lives through tutoring. We offer subsidised, high-quality tutoring to young people, working in partnership with schools across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Leeds and Bradford to support their pupils to achieve their potential. We recruit highly motivated individuals through a competitive multi-stage recruitment process as we want our tutors to not only deliver impactful tutoring but to act as great role models for our tutees.Whilst the majority of our tutors are undergraduates, our tutor cohort also contains graduates as well as more experienced professionals, including qualified teachers. All our would-be tutors undertake compulsory training, with monitoring and support from Tutor Trust's in-house team of qualified teachers. After training, we continue to support our tutors with regular tutorials, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities and focus groups. Our Quality Team also monitor lesson plans and carry out lesson observations to ensure consistency and high-quality delivery. How do I become a tutor with Tutor Trust? The first step is to complete the application form. We're looking for highly motivated individuals who will be role models for the young people we support, so tell us about your studies and any work or voluntary experience you have. Please ensure that you have the right to register as self-employed in the UK, and that you possess an EU passport or the relevant documents/tier of visa. We advise that anybody who is unsure on whether they are eligible to register as self-employed to check by calling HMRC before completing an application form. Successful candidates will need to complete an enhanced DBS check through Tutor Trust before they can take on assignments. We invite our successful applicants to interview and we then invite the successful interviewees to train with us. Training consists of 10 hours of self-learning online through structured pathways and live interactive sessions. When you have passed your training and we have received two references and an enhanced DBS check (we will pay for this) congratulations! You are now able to tutor with us.Booking your tutoring assignmentWhen a school has a confirmed block of tuition, we advertise this to our tutors direct by email and online through our Connect platform. Tutors then express their interest in tutoring at the school. You will work either 1:1 or in small groups with pupils (the maximum group size is three pupils). The tuition sessions will happen at the same time for a fixed number of weeks. We ask that you make sure you are available for the duration of the assignment. We will professionally support you throughout your time as a tutor by offering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) learning opportunities with ongoing tutorials and live training sessions. We expect that, from September, the vast majority of our tutoring will be delivered face-to-face in mainstream schools. However, we are conscious that local areas may still experience disruption due to coronavirus. Depending on circumstances, tutors may need to move to online tutoring during the course of the block of tutoring. If this is the case, our Tutor Trust team will support you to continue to deliver great tuition to your tutees through the Vedamo platform. Why work for Tutor Trust? You make a differenceWe offer a unique opportunity to get involved in a local charity and help transform the lives of young people through tutoring in the Greater Manchester, Leeds-Bradford and Merseyside areas. You'll receive great pay and incentivesWe offer a very competitive rate of pay - a minimum of £20 to plan and deliver a tutoring session. Each tutor will now receive a minimum of £300 for every standard assignment of 15 hours.
