Job description

*Fulbridge Social Care* are looking for caring candidates to join our team of Youth Workers in your area, working with children with challenging behaviours, learning disabilities/difficulties and psychological disorders.

Ideal candidates will be passionate about providing a therapeutic environment for children to grow and flourish in, setting rules and boundaries, rewarding good behaviour and teaching life skills.

Although at times challenging, this job can be extremely rewarding as you will contribute to the positive progress and accomplishments to the lives of these young people.

Any voluntary or previous experience is helpful however, it is not essential, as we are a large training provider and will provide sector-specific and sought after training. As a national company, we have a range of flexible positions for those who are looking for the flexibility of working days around their current job or lifestyle.

*Responsibilities and Duties: *

Although no two days are the same, the general duties will include the following:
* Maintaining a safe and positive living environment
* Teaching basic life skills and living skills such as budgeting, shopping, cleaning
* Setting rules and boundaries for young people's behaviour
* Interacting and taking part in social activities
* Providing support and guidance
* Helping young people to deal with problems and become independent
* Liaising with social workers, doctors, police, teachers and other professional bodies.
* Keeping accurate records.
* Having excellent communication, time management and organisation skills.

*Qualifications and Skills: *

The only requirements for this role are that applicants need to be over the age of 21 in accordance with national minimum standards.

*Shift Patterns (you must be able to commit to one or more of the following): *

8am - 4pm

8am - 11pm

8am - 11pm + sleep

4pm - 11pm

4pm - 11pm + sleep

10pm - 8am

_Please note that you would be required to complete an enhanced DBS with Fulbridge Social Care at a cost of £59 met by the employee or provide a portable DBS - £10 administration fee payable. Please note that International Checks might also be required as part of compliance if you have lived or worked for an extended period abroad. All candidates must successfully complete the induction assessment training as part of candidate compliance, prior to any placements being offered._
