Further information:

A Female PA is required to provide support to a disabled teenager who resides in Longhill area of the city. The young woman enjoys bowling and going to the cinema. She has limited verbal communication but can let you know what she wants to do by answering yes or no. She does respond well to 1:1 support although she can be very shy with people who she does not know well. The appointed PA would be responsible for supporting this young woman in the community and accessing social and leisure opportunities, and therefore someone who enjoys the aforementioned activities, who can provide her with clear boundaries and guidance, whilst being sympathetic to her disability would be an ideal applicant. The appointed PA will ideally be enthusiastic, intelligent and creative and able to support her to maximize her independence. Experience of supporting young people who are autistic would be an advantage. The PA will be required to assist with some aspects of personal care. Own transport preferred but not essential
The PA will be required for four hours per week, which will usually be on a Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday.
She has ADHD, has been diagnosed as Autistic and occasionally displays some behavioural problems, but is otherwise in good physical health.
Applicant must be flexible in their approach to work, like a job that can be demanding but varied, and have a strongly developed sense of social justice in supporting the social inclusion of disabled young people in their local communities. Applicants should also be honest and trustworthy, have a confident nature with the ability to remain calm, be good at communicating, and be able to build good relationships with people, based on trust
