W e ha v e a v aca n c y in our Avnet EMEA Legal Team fo r a Legal Counsel (Northern Europe) to be ba se d at our Leeds office .T A SKS & R E S P O NSIBIL I T I ESSupporting several divisions and subsidiaries in all legal issues of a globally operating company you will provide legal advice and consultation on issues concerning the rights, obligations and privileges of the organization and make a significant contribution to the further positive development of the business activities;A "Generalist" and contact person for Sales and other internal departments as well as for business partners regarding day-to-day questions on general commercial law, distribution law, international sales law, etc., with a focus on Northern Europe;You will have a sound knowledge of contract law and will draft and negotiate supplier, OEM, supply, logistics and service contracts as well as other agreements relevant to our business;You will manage projects and work closely with other colleagues from the EMEA legal department;You will be responsible for claims and litigation management including negotiations with customers, manufacturers, insurance companies, and coordinating outside lawyers where necessary, etc.;S KILLSBachelors degree or equivalent experienceRelevant professional experience from a comparable position e.g. in the legal department of an international company and/or a law firm with a focus on commercial law;Able to think entrepreneurially, act analytically and logically and act as a "problem solver";Strong communication skills, diplomatic approach with internal clients and stakeholders, able to adapt quickly to new circumstances and set priorities in a new and targeted way at any time;High level of service and customer orientation with a "can-do" approach;Excellent English (written and spoken), with other language skills an advantage;Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Teams;The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
