About the role
Due to exciting growth plans with our Northern division, we are currently looking for a high quality Senior Land Manager to join our team. Whilst the role will be based out of our York office, we have recently adopted a hybrid way of working which typically requires 2 or 3 days a week in the office, with the remainder working from home or outsourcing land and attending meetings.
We are interested in hearing from highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate individuals who want to work in a fast paced, exciting environment. Across the Northern Division we are looking to acquire a minimum of 20 new sites per annum and there is a massive opportunity to bring forward differing types of deals across our product range and to earn site acquisition bonuses every year.
The retirement sector is constantly growing and evolving to meet the needs of our customers. We are looking for talented individuals who can combine efficiency, organisation and an exemplar work ethic, with an innovative and creative approach to problem solving / deal making.
Key Responsibilities
* Be fully aware of the land acquisition budgets for the Division in terms of numbers of sites, units and timelines for the delivery.
* Adhere to Company standard practices and procedures for land acquisition.
* Be fully conversant with and follow the Land Department processes and procedures in order to compile board pack submissions.
* Be fully aware of the role of other Departments within the Company and work with them closely to ensure that projects run smoothly, accurately and efficiently.
* Develop and maintain contacts strong positive links with agents, local authorities and landowners.
* Recommend to the Divisional Land Director ways to promote land purchase programme and to notify them of any major events in the region such as conferences, exhibitions, public meetings etc.
* Accurately and professionally report Land Pipeline updates at the weekly internal meetings and forums.
* Instruct the company's solicitors on all land purchases within the designated area of the Division.
* Ensure regular communication with colleagues to enable the efficient and effective sharing of key information.
About You
Education and Qualifications
* 'A' level standard or equivalent.
* An MRICS, or MRTPI or similar qualification preferred.
* Full UK Driving licence with ability to travel extensively to fulfil role.
Knowledge & Experience
* Advanced negotiation skills are essential.
* Extensive practical experience, also having held a similar post
* Be a deal maker with ability to demonstrate a proven track record.
* Geographical knowledge of operating area is essential

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing reports and presentation of data.
* Excellent relationship management skills: calm under pressure including during interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
* Able to work effectively with minimal supervision, with good decision-making capability.
* Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
* Strong understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality about all Company and role-related information
* Able to maintain composure and operate effectively in a pressurised environment, be enthusiastic, honest, tactful
