The Role

Vision for Education is seeking supply SEND Teachers for Key Stage 1&2 to work in local SEND schools across Redcar, starting in November. Working in multiple schools with a friendly and supportive environment in a specialist setting. Working with children aged 11 to 16 with special educational needs and disabilities, Autism and Physical Disabilities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous SEND Teaching experience or a qualified teacher looking to gain exposure in a SEND environment. If you have NQT status this is the chance to gain further experience and develop teaching skills in a SEND environment.

The school

The specialist schools cater for students in with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues and visual or hearing impairments. The schools offer brilliant facilities and resources, and the staff pride themselves on their child-centred approach. say Most schools we work with have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

Requirements

To be considered for the SEND Teacher role you must:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Newly Qualified Teaching Status (NQT)
Hold a driving licence, which would be preferred, but not essential.
A DBS Certificate is an advantage but not essential, this can be arranged.
Be Comfortable with personal care in numerous settings.
Confident de-escalating challenging situations. Training would be an advantage but not essential.
