Job description

About The Role

We are looking for a team of support workers to care for a group of young adults in one of our homes at The Paddocks, in Wadworth, Doncaster. We'll call our young people Tim and Paul*.

We are looking for people who are a good match in terms of personalities and have similar interests to the people we care for.

Tim is an affectionate person with an affectionate personality and requires a support worker who is similar, with a warm and caring nature. Tim has an array of interests from walking and music and enjoys watching films and his favourite TV programmes. Communication aids are really important to Tim so you will need to be open to learning news ways to communicate so that Tim can learn how to be an independent as possible. A healthy diet and nutritional meals are particularly important for Tim so someone who is passionate about healthy eating is key!

Paul is a cheeky chap with a great sense of humour and is looking for someone to support him who can make him laugh. Paul's family is really important to him and he likes his team to get to know his family too. Paul enjoys listening to music and dancing at discos and parties. Keeping busy and getting involved in different activities at home and in the community is key as Paul is sensitive to his environment if things don't feel right or someone else is upset. If you are an active person and can drive we would like to hear from you!

Our shift times are:

Days 7:10am - 3:55pm

Afters 2:45pm - 9:30pm

It is a flexible rota running over 6 weeks, with no fixed pattern to shifts, for example you may work 2 days 1 afters then have 2 days off off, or work 3 afters then have 4 days off for example. You will work 14 day shifts and 14 afternoon shifts and will get 14 days off in the six week period.

Preferred days off can be put onto the communication board for the manager who will then try and accommodate the requests.

*Tim and Paul are not their real names
