Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Military Modeling and Simulation Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support the mission areas of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) - Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC). The scope of work for the position includes leading modeling and simulation efforts for virtual and constructive simulation of military operations, software design and development directly related to the integration of tactical and simulation systems, and experimentation and analysis support for operations research and systems analysis. The candidate will work in a collaborative agile team environment consisting of defense industry contractors and U.S. Government personnel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
- Lead the integration of live, virtual, and constructive simulations, image generators, data loggers and viewers, and battle command systems
- Implement conceptual models developed by subject matter experts into simulations such as OneSAF and IDEEAS with the intent to understand the capabilities of the systems being modeled and their effects on military operations
- Support short and long haul cross-domain experimentation and exercises by preparing and integrating the required systems within a federation
- Plan and execute modeling and simulation systems development projects
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years or more of demonstrated experience in military modeling and simulation in live, virtual, and constructive environments
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE
- Candidate must have an Interim SECRET to start and the ability to obtain full secret security clearance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with force-on-force battlefield environment simulations such as OneSAF
- Experience in leading teams in the development and execution of doctrinally relevant scenarios for the purchase of understanding the impact of emerging systems and technologies.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools and image generators such as the MAK Data Logger, VBS3, and NVIG
- Experience with battle command systems such as FBCB2, CPOF, Link-16, and JBC-P and their integration into a federated M&S environment
- Experience with complex battlefield scenario development to include TRADOC approved scenarios
- Programming experience with Java, R, Python, C++, or C#
DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- Graduate of Army ILE, along with BOLC and CCC for Air Defense Artillery or Aviation Branches
- Functional Area 57 or 49 certified
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Military experience within the Air Defense, Missile, or Army Aviation communities
- Experience with virtual and constructive simulation of air defense and aviation systems within military, combined-arms, operations

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
