Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is searching for Staff Engineer Systems (multiple positions) to join the Command and Control, Communication and Computer Missile Defense (C4MD) Business Unit in Huntsville, AL.

The selected candidates will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

The selected candidates must be able to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts which contributes to the development of new principles, concepts and technical solutions. The selected candidates will work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious and will work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. The selected candidate may function in a project leadership role and would serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. The selected individuals may also act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Basic Qualifications: 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD. U.S. Citizenship is required

Active Secret Security Clearance is required

Ability to travel is required

Preferred Qualifications:

Systems Engineering experience and knowledge of Army Air and Missile Defense systems, concepts and advanced theories.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems.
Prior experience successfully performing in a technical leadership role
Ability to work with consultative guidance to meet assignment objectives.
